August is dedicated to my old August Förster piano at my parents place in Reykjavík, Iceland. I have played it since I remember and love it very much. I wrote the songs in 2020, mostly during the first lockdown in Berlin. At first I wasn´t sure what to do with them, these little themes but then figured they worked quite well as just solo piano pieces. I came to the conlusion I would record them and make a little piano album (I wanted to do it for a long time actually but was never sure how. Now I had the material!). I wanted to record it in a simple way and use just what I had, meaning: The August Förster, a basic Zoom recorder and Garageband. The recording took place in January 2021.
